  2. Known and suspected conflicts with JPEGView 3.1

  5. I have had several reports, both confirmed and unconfirmed, of problems running JPEGView when certain system extensions are installed.  It is important to note that NONE OF THESE ARE FATAL!  They just mean that you need to take precautions when running JPEGView with any of the following software.  Workarounds are provided for each problem, and if I can find away to properly resolve any of these conflicts, I will release a fix for it immediately.

  7. OptiMem

I have heard reports that OptiMem won't let JPEGView open images; you may get a "Not enough memory to open" error.  The solution to this is either to turn off OptiMem for JPEGView, or else to run a slide show first, and then open your images.  For some reason unbeknownst to me, OptiMem figures out how to work with JPEGView once you run a slide show.  Don't ask me why.

  11. GateKeeper Aid

  13. There seems to be a strange interaction between JPEGView and the GateKeeper Aid extension.  If you launch JPEGView such that it leaves less than 50k or so of free system memory available, JPEGView will crash at startup.  If JPEGView's memory partition is set so that there will be more than about 50k of free system memory left after JPEGView is launched, everything will work fine.

  17. This utility has a known bug in it that will prevent you from dragging JPEGView's windows around.  There is nothing I can do to work around the problem; if you want it fixed, bug the DragWindow author about it.  An annoying workaround is to always hold the command key down when dragging windows.
